  This pub used to be a bit of a dive. They have done a terrific job in doing it up.
  
  I have avoided for several years until recently went with a party of 6 after a recommendation.
  
  With any restaurant I visit I would like to have enough food in my main dish to be satisfied. I would like to choose whether or not to have a starter or desert.
  
  The food was very nice and cooked well. I ordered a pub classic of sausage and mash. 3 sausages which was good but a tablespoon of mash? £13:00. Other members of my party had burgers, with a Jenga stack of chips 8-10 about £13:00 Playing at being poncy?
  
  I didn't find the food excessively overpriced but for the portion control you got the price was excessive. A few more chips or a little more mash would do the trick. Designing Jenga shapes with the chips means handling the food unnecessarily.
  
  Waiting staff were very nice ;-)
  
  I'm not someone who has a large appetite, just normal. Needless to say I left hungry.

  The steak was excellent. The starter was poor - tomato and mozzarella salad but the tomatoes were bland, not ripe. I complained to the guy who took our plates away. When the bill came the waiter became grumpy when I asked for it to be taken off the bill. I guess the staff hadn't communicated to each other. Which spoiled otherwise good service. The atmosphere was ruined by a large group of drunk people swearing. Restaurant chose to prioritise them over the rest of the diners. Which is a shame but I guess the immediate cash wins over repeat business.

  Good food but quite expensive. Good selection of Gin's however.
